  Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Proven experience in payroll processing and tax compliance.

  Strong understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations.

  Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  Job Description

  Performs complex professional accounting work involving the application of a comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices to the resolution of a wide variety of complex accounting problems. This position may have primary responsibility for a segment of the General Accounting operation or a specialized complex area.

  Job Duties

  Respond to employee inquiries and provide assistance on payroll-related matters.

  Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or errors.

  Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  Calculate and deposit payroll taxes, including Social Security, Medicare, and income taxes.

  Prepare and file accurate and timely payroll tax returns (federal, state, local).

  Reconcile payroll liabilities and resolve discrepancies.

  Prepare complex journal entries and reconciliations.

  Maintain organized and up-to-date payroll records.

  Conduct internal audits to ensure payroll and tax compliance.

  Respond to external audits and inquiries from tax authorities.

  Utilize and maintain payroll software systems.

  Prepare and distribute W-2 forms at year-end.

  Collaborate with finance, human resources, and other departments.
