Brooks Instrument, a global manufacturer of flow and pressure measurement and control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company) is seeking candidates for an Accountant. Brooks maintains manufacturing, sales, and service center facilities around the world, and our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, petro-chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, nuclear, and solar cells.
Basic Function
This position will perform the duties associated with the maintenance of the general ledger, other reports and projects as assigned in the Finance group and other areas of the Brooks Instrument organization. This is an entry level position within the Finance department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations (cash, vendor advances, AP, consigned inventory)
Prepare standard monthly journal entries and review for accuracy and completeness
Assist with the monthly closing within various business systems
Financial analysis support for Strategic Sourcing savings projects
Prepare analysis for vendor consigned inventory
Maintain current sales tax certificates database
Maintain or audit approved discount database
Calculate or audit revenue achievement for the sales team
Financial analysis support for other departments related to Capital Expenditure requests
Review and process credit or debit memo requests
Cross-train and backup AR functions, when necessary
Support annual budget process
Participate in annual physical inventories
Assist with audit and tax requests
Other functions and projects, as assigned
BS degree in Accounting
Recent Graduate to three years of experience
Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage large volume of data
Possess a strong work ethic
Applicant should be intellectually curious, self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic
