　　The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an AccountTechnician I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in ParkForest, Illinois to perform specialized, technical accounting work byverifying accuracy and validity of journals, ledgers, invoices,vouchers, and other financial documents used in the business office.Verifies transactions, prepares worksheets, closes books and takespost-closing trial balances for funds held by the Ludeman DevelopmentalCenter. Enters financial transactions into an accounting journal andposts journal entries into a ledger. Serves as a back-up to the PayrollOffice by performing technical accounting timekeeping and payrollactivities.

　　Job Responsibilities

　　1.Performs specialized, technical accounting work by verifying accuracyand validity of journals, ledgers, invoices, vouchers, and otherfinancial documents used in the Ludeman Developmental Center businessoffice.

　　2.Prepares worksheets to be reviewed by higher level accountingpersonnel prior to closing books for locally held funds and trust funds.

　　3.Closes books following approval by higher level accounting personneland takes post-closing trial balances.

　　4.Posts quantities received to Release Orders to determine what itemsremain open.

　　5.Reviews General Revenue fund purchase orders and files them in pendingalphabetical file.

　　6.Posts merchandise payments and contractual payments to ledgers andbalances ledgers.

　　7.Serves as a back-up to the Payroll Office by performing technicalaccounting timekeeping and payroll activities.

　　8.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonablywithin the scope of duties enumerated above.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　1.Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent tocompletion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approvedtraining course.

　　OR

　　Three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

　　Conditions of Employment

　　1.Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personalcomputers.

　　2.Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends andholidays.

　　3.Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.

　　4.Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

　　5.Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited fromrecreational use under Illinois Law.
