Responsibilities You will examine accounting documents and summary records to determine proper application of DON regulatory requirements and auditing standards. You will provide information about, and interpret standard organizational budgetary and accounting practices and regulations. You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems. You will perform professional accounting services to the assigned area and to other financial managers regarding the accounting function and the application of accounting principles, policies, and procedures. You will operate, maintain, analyze, modify, and interpret highly integrated automated accounting and financial reporting systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07:Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of accounting theories and practices, methods, and techniques; 2) Applying Information Technology systems procedures for principles, concepts, and techniques of financial reporting systems; 3) Reporting techniques, oral and written, and effectively briefing more experienced individuals; and 4) Demonstrating knowledge of principles, techniques, and practices of professional accounting.
