Billings School District 2 is seeking an ACADEMIC INTERVENTIONIST for Medicine Crow Middle School to interface with parents, students, and school staff to improve attendance and behavior of students in 6-8 grade.(Long-Term Assignment January 2024 to May 31, 2024)QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelors degree in Education or Masters degree in Educational Leadership K-12PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (may include but not limited to the following):- Conduct home visits- Assist parents in understanding the importance of daily school attendance.- Secure necessary services to help parents assure attendance of student in 6-8.- Transport student to school if necessary- Interface with school personnel?counselor, teacher, social worker, and principals to help develop a plan for youngsters and their families to improve truancy/attendance and behavior issues.- Coordinate outside district services for families which may include, but are not limited to, social/welfare, housing, medical and others a necessary- Complete paperwork necessary to notice parents of students with chronic tardy, absentee and behavior issues.- Attend meetings on specific students as requested by the school staff.- Develop relationships with students, their families and school personnel.- Work in collaboration with the Truancy Center Liaison and Officer at the Truancy Center.- Keep data on student attendance and monitor attendance of students who are chronically absent.- Prepare a yearly report documenting interventions and program success and services.- Establish lines of communication between the home and the school.- Develop relationships with families who experience high risk behavior.- Help students develop plans to improve behavior.- Work with parents to develop cooperative plans between student, parent and school for behavior issues.- Develop individual behavior plans for chronic behavior issues that are data driven.- Track individual student behavior plans and revise as necessary.- Supervise the in school suspension room as necessary.- Collaborate with teachers to minimize inappropriate classroom behaviors.- Observe behaviorally impacted students in the classroom setting and design classroom behavior plans and interventions for various types of in appropriate classroom behavior.- Follow Billings Public Schools policies and procedures when working with students to solve disciplinary and attendance issues.Equal Opportunity Employer.
