Compensation Min - Mid Range:The Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) is one of the seven laboratories ofNCAR, the National Science Foundation's Federally Funded Research andDevelopment Center. The mission of EOL is to provide leadership in observingfacilities, field project support, observational research and dataservices needed to advance the scientific understanding of the Earth system.
EOL manages the majority of NSF's Lower Atmosphere Observing Facilities(LAOF) and deploys them in support of observational field campaigns,ranging from single investigator projects to large complex campaigns thatinvolve multiple investigators, agencies, and platforms, nationally andinternationally. EOL deploys its systems for research by scientists fromuniversities, NCAR, and government agencies. An integral part of EOL'smission is to develop the next generation of LAOF and to provide managementand archive of data from past supported campaigns.
To ensure progress in the atmospheric sciences, EOL supports a wide range ofresearch areas within the Earth system science, ranging from microscale tomesoscale to climate process studies, and deploys LAOF platforms and systemsthat reach from the surface of the Earth to the lower stratosphere and beyond.Application NotesJob Location:Boulder, Colorado, United States

Position Type & Term:This position isFull-time (40 hours per week)during the program.
The 2024 summer internships are 11 weeks in duration.
Applicants must be available to work 40 hours per week from May 20, 2024,through August 2, 2024, for participation in the program.NCAR has 3 unpaid holidays for interns during the summer internship(Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and Independence Day).
2024 Hourly Rate: $21.91
