Middle School ENL Teacher (LIC)

　　Content Responsibilities:

　　Determine students needs by analyzing Home Language Questionnaires and administering the NYSITELL and NYSESLAT exams as neededFacilitate push-in and pull-out direct instruction with English Language Learners, (ELLs), and former ELLsCollaborate and co-plan with classroom teachers to scaffold GUGCS curricular programs for ELLsAdvocate for the needs of ELLs with classroom teachers and school leadersReview formal and informal assessment data with classroom teachers and/or advisors in order to track student progress and ensure the proper amount of supportKeep families informed of student performance and progressEmploy approaches that address multiple types of learners, (visual, sensory, kinesthetic, audio)Actively participate in the school community through staff meetings, professional development opportunities, staff committees, and school events.Respond productively to ongoing, year-round professional feedback

　　Utilize the Responsive Classroom approach to discipline and community-buildingEstablish and maintain ongoing positive relationships and communication with familiesActively participate in the school community through weekly staff meetings, PD opportunities, department meetings, and school eventsWork with an instructional coach on improving teaching practices throughout the yearRespond productively to ongoing, year-round professional feedbackDemonstrate commitment to working with diverse populations of families and students, including those at-riskPerform other school-wide responsibilities
