Our dynamic and successful Urban Mobility and Infrastructure Group is seeking an Urban Mobility and Transit Design Engineer to join our team of professionals, focusing on transportation design in urban markets. Location options for this opportunity include Chicago, IL, Omaha, NE, and Minneapolis or St. Paul, MN. As an Urban Mobility and Transit Design Engineer, you will be exposed to a wide variety of innovative and diverse projects, including the civil design of reconstruction projects balancing pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle priorities; civil improvements for light rail transit (LRT), highway and arterial Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects; and pedestrian / bicycle focused improvement projects. Duties include leading tasks for the development of construction plans and documents; preparing reports, studies, and construction contract documents; and evaluating design alternatives. Responsibilities: Assist the design team in producing quality products for our clients. Engage in a positive work environment with an open mind to learning new skills and software associated with typical project requirements. Be an active participant on a collaborative design team with other groups/disciplines within SRF. Exhibit quality day-to-day work in line with SRF's quality management plan. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and successful completion of the FE exam or qualification to take the FE exam within six months of starting. We are seeking 3 or more years of related civil engineering experience. Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or in Bentley 3D design tools. Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft office suite experience. Engineering Licensure or desire to pursue professional engineering licensure. Interest or passion for involvement in the development of nationwide innovative transit projects.
