  About Nithview Community:

  Nithview Community is a seniors' community designed to provide several types of accommodation and services. Residents are able to choose the type of accommodation that is most appropriate for their care needs and continue to live within the community of care as their needs change. Emphasis is placed on assisting residents to live life to the fullest in this dynamic residential setting.

  About the Position:

  Reporting to the Director of Nutrition Services, the Dietary Aide is responsible for serving food, assisting with stock, dishwashing, and other related duties. We are looking for candidates with a great attitude to join our team.

  Qualifications:

  Current Safe Food Handling certificate is requiredExperience:

  Minimum one (1) year experience working in food service fields, preferably in an institutional environment is an assetKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  Must be able to relate, communicate and co-operate effectively with staff, residents, residents' families, and the public

  Knowledge of basic nutrition and special diet needs of individual residents

  Able to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely and efficiently

  Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature change

  Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the workday

  Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  Summer Opportunities generally start in May and end at the beginning of September. These jobs may be funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) or Canada Summer Jobs. In order to be considered for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must:

  Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

  Be between 15-30 years of age at beginning of employment period

  Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations

  *If you do not meet the above criteria you can still apply as we may have opportunities available over and above the SWPP.

  New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check (or sign a declaration if under 18 years of age) and TB test as part of the onboarding process.

  Tri-County Mennonite Homes does not require COVID-19 vaccination as a part of the onboarding process, however TCMH continues to strongly recommend "up-to-date" COVID-19 vaccinations.
