Software Developer Senior

GDIT has an opening for the position of Software Developer Sr.

We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our team. In this role you will be a change agent by working on the TFM2 contract. TFM2 provides modernization and life cycle support of Information Technology infrastructure that host national implementation of the FAA's Traffic Flow Management (TFM) functionality. It also focuses on long term engineering services and the development of new functional enhancements that increase the capability of Traffic Flow Management.

Responsibilities Include:

Design Java EE/Jakarta EE software using object-oriented design patterns

Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain algorithmic and mathematical solutions.

Develop applications to solve highly complex technical challenges

Develop test harnesses to support software testing

Provide software support for a real-time air traffic management system

Debug software problems and provide solutions

Develop software requirements

Document verification and validation of solution sets and protocols

Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures

Ensure compliance with software standards

Education:

Bachelor’s degree( in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field) + 10 yrs. related experienceQualifications:

Extensive experience using Java EE/Jakarta EE

Experience implementing GUIs with Swing

Experience with ORM frameworks (Eclipselink, Hibernate)

Experience using C/C++ Experience implementing various software life cycles including Agile/Scrum

Experience with Ansible and/or containerization/virtualization desired (ex: Docker, Podman, Skopeo, Buildah, Kubernetes, Openshift)

Strong Linux knowledge/experience

Extensive knowledge of SQL, XML JSON, YAML, and experience with relational databases

Demonstrated strength in solving complex problems

Cloud experience/certifications a plus

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
