As a Software Engineer in Research & Development, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.
As a Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of firmware/software systems.
Understand hardware and software interactions, and collaborate with Hardware Engineers.
Prepare and maintain designs and test documentation.
Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

This job might be for you if:
You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
You have 2+ years experience in one or more of the following areas:
Embedded systems firmware development
Real-time firmware design
C and assembly languages
Object oriented design
Object oriented languages (C++, Java, Python)
You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Experience in the following areas is a plus:
Industrial controls.
3-phase electric power systems.
Modern communications protocols.
Digital and analog circuitry.
Digital communications and signal processing.
Project management.

Pay Range Data:
We anticipate filling this position as a Software Engineer $70,000 - $ 108,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
