  Integration of Oracle server components on the Linux/Unix/Windows platform. This involves build, port, develop, fix and debug software programs for databases, tools, etc. We are looking for highly motivated, creative individuals with good C, Java, Shell and PERL programming skills.

  Description

  As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement low ego changes to existing software architecture to meet changing requirements.

  Additional Details: A good candidate for this position will have the following technical and personal skills:

  Should be very proficient in C/C++/Java.

  Good experience with Perl, shell scripting or other scripting technologies.

  Good understanding of Linux, Unix or Windows environment.

  Good debugging skills.

  Clear understanding of the build process, compilers, linkers and Makefiles.

  Exposure in source code control systems like Clearcase, CVS etc.

  Self motivated with an ability to work independently or in a team.

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  Additional desirable skills:

  Any kind of automation skills.

  Good understanding of 64bit porting issues will be an asset.

  Understanding of Software Engineering processes and methodologies.

  Job Description:

  As a member of the software engineering build & integration division, you will be responsible for daily builds of all Oracle server components and continuous integration on one or more Unix/Linux Ports for all major, minor and patch releases. We are also responsible for defining and developing the integration and development environment for the Server Technologies Division.

  Integration of Oracle server components on the Unix/Linux Ports involves build, port, develop, fix and debug software programs for databases, tools, etc.

  Duties may include merging/porting C, C++, Java, Perl or Shell code for different Unix/Linux Ports.

  You will extensively use distributed build architecture, source code control, build and integration tools.

  You will specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing requirements.

  Detailed knowledge of any Source Code Control System (like Clearcase, CVS), Object Oriented Perl & Shell scripting is required.

  Clear understanding of the build process, compilers, linkers and Makefiles.

  Unix/Linux OS basics, knowledge of important differences between Unix/Linux and other Ports like Windows, cross platform usage and experience in Unix/Linux scripting is desirable.

  Jenkins/Hudson experience will be a plus.

  Job Requirements

  Sharp mind and good debugging skills are crucial. You will be required to differentiate between infrastructure issues, code issues or porting exceptions and fix them by involving the right teams.

  Duties and tasks are multifaceted and complex requiring independent judgment.

  Fully proficient in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.

  Self motivated with an ability to work independently or in a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Any kind of automation skills.

  Good understanding of 64/32-bit Unix/Linux porting issues will be an asset. Understanding of Software Engineering
