About the role:
To create/maintain a competitive edge for Novartis by manufacturing and supplying pharmaceutical products of high quality and value, in a timely manner to the full satisfaction of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for management of a manufacturer and overall site performance to ensure that manufacturing and practices are in compliance with principles and regulations
• Develops and implements site specific strategies based on the overall Small Molecules Platform strategies
• Manages resource allocation (incl. asset ) to meet overall Small Molecules Platform objectives
• Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives via process oriented organization in line with overall targets
• Develops people talent to sustain both global and local competitiveness
• Ensures operations in accordance with Novartis policy and is responsible for overall relationships with local governmental bodies and key stakeholders. Coordinates external communications in agreement with Small Molecules Platform Management
• Responsible for products production management to ensure that products are produced and stored accordance to the approved process protocols; ensure that plants and facilities and equipment are in good working order, complete the necessary verification work to obtain the required quality; ensure the effective operation of the production management training system, training and assessment of all personnel in products production management

Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
• B.S. degree in life science, chemistry, pharmacology, engineering or related science fields. Advanced degree or MBA preferred
• Solid experience with manufacturing and production environment within pharmaceutical insutry, business experience or x-country experience will be a plus
• Proven project management experience and an extensive track record in a GMP manufacturing environment of pharmaceuticals
• Strong leadership, good coach skills
• Fluent English and Mandarin is a plus
