DUTIES: Design and implement a system to provide personalized product recommendations across Estée Lauder Companies’ global portfolio of direct-to-consumer websites. Propose and execute experiments to evaluate the performance of various marketing and sales tactics. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve business-focused reporting and visualization suites to promote data-driven decision making. Write efficient, clear code as well as comprehensive, accurate technical documents to ensure deliverables meet customer needs and team goals. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and product managers to translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables, including the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable solutions. Automate data transformation, validation, monitoring, and alerting, with emphasis on maintainability, robustness, and scalability. Develop ETL/ELT processes that comply with the computational demands, accuracy, and reliability of the relevant processes at various stages of production. Utilize code (SQL, python, etc.) and apply engineering, reporting, and visualization expertise to solve business problems. Develop scalable tools to drive automation and optimize business operations. Develop scalable systems to expand reporting capabilities, facilitate ad hoc analysis, and improve data-driven decision making at all levels of the business. Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult data transformation problems with efficiency, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Information Technology Management or related quantitative field or foreign equivalent and three years of experience in a Data Science or related role. Experience must include performing descriptive statistical analysis and data transformation; Utilizing analytics software including SQL, Looker, PowerBI, and Tableau; Utilizing data scripting languages or statistical/mathematical software including Python, R, and Matlab; Delivering data-driven products and insights, and influencing product and engineering decisions; Working with large-scale cloud database systems; Analyzing, validating, and transforming large datasets; Deploying data-intensive solutions, working within the entirety of the software development lifecycle; Crafting compelling data visualizations to inform business decisions; Working with ambiguous and dynamic business requirements and negotiating project scope and timelines with business stakeholders; and Designing and implementing analytical and/or algorithmic solutions tailored to particular business needs and tested on large data sets.
