Who You Are:
As an Integration & Migration Developer within the Public Safety SaaS team, you will assist in designing, building, and operating a highly distributed SaaS service with extremely high availability and scalability requirements. In this position, you will be a key player when it comes to relationships and information exchange between Oracle, our customers, and the partners our public safety clients depends on. You will work as a member of our cross-discipline service development team. You will work in concert with developers to evolve systems/products for better scalability, reliability and enable first responders to have necessary data when serving the public. You will be responsible to ensure our services and systems are designed and built from the start with reliability, scalability, and observability as critical features. Emphasis on driving prioritization and execution of work based on business impact is a must.
Gather integration requirements from a variety of streams and sources. Use that knowledge to design, write, and deploy scripts and/or software to improve the interoperability and efficiency of Oracle products and services.
Create and maintain documentation for use by the team and clients.
Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
Develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
Work as a member of the development team and share full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology area. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.
Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide development teams to engineer and add capabilities to internal Oracle services.
Act as an ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and the dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
Understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems.
Serve as part of a 24x7 On Call rotation in support of the Public Safety SaaS Suite
Professional curiosity and a desire to develop a deep understanding of services and technologies.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field experience
Experience with Java, Python, or C++ including Object Oriented programming
Ability to query and manipulate data in a variety of formats (XML, JSON, CSV, etc).
Experience writing scripts (Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Bash)
Familiar with common API standards including REST, GraphQL, Database Views, etc
Act as a liaison between internal software developers, customers, and integration partners. Effectively translate complex subjects between all parties involved.
Familiar with common tools (GraphiQL, SOAPUI, Postman, Putty, etc)
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve connectivity issues.
History with data migration and ETL fundamentals
Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, distributed, scalable systems
Aptitude to be a good team player and the desire to learn and implement new Cloud technologies as needed
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in two or more of the following areas:
Software development / operations
Integrating large scale distributed services / applications
Experience with an iPaaS solution
Public safety and/or public safety software
CJIS query and message switch
Previous work history with public safety vendors
