We are looking for a talented, tech-savvy individual to join our internal consulting unit in Budapest. The Finance Special Work Assignment Team has a diverse mix of developer, business analyst, finance, and risk expertise. Accordingly, we are open to considering a wide range of backgrounds, and do not expect you to be proficient in every field.
Our team members act as internal consultants, develop and reengineer processes, and introduce digital transformation where it is most needed within the EMEA Finance Controllers division. We have a strong emphasis on process engineering for the regulatory & financial reporting field.
We are a strongly technical team relying on technologies such as KNIME, Python, Java, and Tableau. You do not need to be a technical expert at start but should have a willingness to learn.
In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:
Work in cooperation with various teams across Citi’s EMEA Finance Division, external consultants, and project specialists to rationalize and automate financial and regulatory reports, internal business processes, and management information systems
Engagements are diverse in nature so you will have exposure to a range of professional areas within Finance. However, process engineering within the regulatory reporting space will be a recurring theme
We are not only providing consulting advice, but are actually delivering solutions for our stakeholders
In this role, you may be temporarily deployed to support daily reporting teams in need. In this capacity, you will be challenged to learn about new areas and to act as a generalist expert, ensuring business continuity, and coming up with process improvement ideas
You will be expected to proactively contribute to the Team’s engagements by identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives and standardization ideas that increase productivity and efficiency, while reducing process cycle times and errors
You will grow into a subject-matter-expert in a relevant professional area, be it in financial risk management, regulatory reporting, Basel, CRR or other aspects of the regulatory policy domain
We are an agile, tech-savvy team, and would like you to contribute to the technical innovation effort to further improve our data management capabilities and process automation techniques
What we consider a potentially good mix of qualifications and skills:
Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred
This role is ideal for an individual with 5+ years of relevant experience, but exceptions apply for special talents
Knowledge of financial markets, banking products, understanding of key concepts in finance, financial risk management (credit risk & market risk), and regulatory policy (Basel Accords, COREP, FINREP, CRR, and related topics) are considered important assets for this position
Financial Services Industry, Consulting, or Technology background is preferred, but exceptions apply
Experience with reporting processes, regulatory reporting, and related projects is a plus
Fluent English is required
Expert-level Excel skills with working experience in process automation is highly valued
Programming knowledge in any leading technology such as Python or Java, and familiarity with SQL is a strong plus
Experience with data transformation tools, and data analytics platforms such as KNIME and/or Tableau would be nice to have
We are a development-focused organization. The above qualifications and skills are considered as primary assets for the position – but we do not pursue perfectionism: we look for capable colleagues and help them grow to excellence in their fields and positions.
