Your Role
The Senior Buyer will develop and maintain purchasing operations and be the main process user for purchasing activities. You will report to the Supply Chain Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:You will evaluate purchase requisitions, negotiate prices on products and services, and issues purchase orders following company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.Responsible for planning, developing, and buying: materials, parts, supplies.You will develop request for quotes.You will resolve contract issues and disputes.Manage supplier relationships.You will research and report commodity changes and trends.You will maintain approved supplier and qualified bidders records.You will maintain supplier KPI's for reporting; monitor supplier performance and responsiveness for cost, quality and delivery.Identify and lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage relationships. Communicate with all levels of management both inside and outside of Procurement including the Operations, Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Planning departments.You will handle facilities purchases and other strategic purchases that are investment level and/or tied to long-term contracts)You will support intercompany buying (e.g PTD, Henrob, Klingel and Bretten) and handle exceptions.Experience ordering materials in bulk (e.g container) from Bretten (or comparable experience)Maintain purchasing master data such as lead times, info records and MRP parameters within SAP. Perform regular audits of accuracy.You will create vendor records in SAPTechnical knowledge of IAS ADH equipmentOther duties as assigned.
To succeed, you will need
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:5 years of ADH purchasing experience or comparable technologyExperience with contract negotiations including pricing, terms and conditions, and policies regarding purchasing.Ability to analyze situations set/adjust priorities and use decision-making skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.Ability to organize data and make presentations to support the decision-making process.Ability to understand the basics of drawings for specific parts utilized.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software.Experience with MRP/ERP systems, SAP preferred.Ability to understand of the basic mechanical operation of an adhesive system or similar technology, preferred.EDUCATION OR QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or equivalent directly related work experience in business, finance, engineering, or other related field.Minimum five years of work experience in a purchasing department or related field.
