  Job Description:

  This is an individual contributor role. This role is not directly responsible for the region. This is a support role focused on Operations (Warehouse + Transportation) involving working closely with Operations Leaders at our DC's, lots of training and coaching.

  Responsible for supporting business segment Operating Companies (OpCos) within the region (Northeast) assigned with proper management of the operation to include warehouse, transportation and facilities. Responsible for supporting all staff members; achieving corporate goals as established by the senior management team, and ensuring corporate profitability. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.Initial focus will be to support all strategic company initiatives in Warehouse, Transportation, Logistics, and Not for Resale, with an emphasis on follow up on Best Practices associated with APT Engineered Labor Standards, EOQ, Slotting, and efficient cubing of pallets. Position supports new facility setup, slotting and organization of facility moves.

  Analyze and manage monthly operation results by OpCo within budgetary guidelines. Support development and reporting of budgets for the Operations Department on a yearly basis and monitor monthly. Support OpCos with forecasting future results.

  Support and oversee facility and fleet maintenance operations.

  Solve operational problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where minimal standardization exists.

  Improve operational strategies and processes based upon knowledge of the food distribution industry. Review and analyze business processes and implement change. Follow-up and hold OpCos accountable for implementing best practices in all areas of operations.

  Maintain efficient slotting and routing at assigned OpCos.

  Support rollout of new technologies.

  Support and oversee OpCo staff in the performance of their duties, including scheduling, training and development. Interview and assist with hiring operation staff members. Assist with facility moves through planning and recruitment of outside help. Provide feedback to performance management process for operations staff members. Demonstrate effective training and support for assigned OpCos.

  Required Qualifications:

  High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

  6 – 10 Years

  6-10 years work experience in operations, warehousing and logistics. Must have both warehouse and transportation side.

  Experience within the foodservice industry preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years in a management role with responsibility for hiring, performance management, progressive discipline, training and development.

  Strong communication skills to work with staff at all levels across the business.

  Must have working knowledge of Fleet Routing Software and Electronic Log Devices, Warehouse Management Systems, RF Selection, Voice Selection.

  Must have Gemini if internal.

  Must be able to support, assist and train in required systems.
