  The UW Autism Center (UWAC) is devoted to supporting families affected by autism spectrum disorders through exceptional clinical services, innovative scientific research and high-quality training. UWAC is part of the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Washington and incorporates faculty and staff from the UW School of Medicine, College of Arts & Sciences, and College of Education.

  The Autism Center’s Seattle Clinic currently has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Psychologist (Continuing Education Specialist 4 (E S 9)). This individual will work among a team of professionals, including licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, early intervention providers, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows. The main function of this position will be direct clinical services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders at the UW Autism Center Seattle clinic. Additional duties will include conducting trainings and consultations in the community.

  This Psychologist in this position will conduct diagnostic evaluations primarily with children under 3 using a collaborative model that incorporates input and participation of birth to three providers. The Psychologist may also conduct diagnostic autism evaluations with individuals of all ages (e.g., infancy through adulthood). The incumbent to this position will administer a standardized battery of tests to assess development and ASD symptoms (see below).

  In addition, to clinical services, the psychologist will offer professional development and consultation to community providers and school districts organized by the UWAC's Training and Consultation Team.

  The position will adhere to UW Autism Center-wide policies and procedures and workload standards. The position requires specialized training and expertise related to autism and the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations regarding clinic patients. Opportunities to develop new programs are available and encouraged. This position will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services and/or the Director of Training and Consultation Services at the UW Autism Center.

  The UW Autism Center Clinical Program is one of the largest service providers for autism spectrum disorders in the region and is considered a national and international leader. This position will play a central role in the UWAC.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Duties - 60%

  Administer a battery of standardized tests (including but not limited to): ADI, ADOS-2, Differential Abilities Scale, Wechsler assessments, and Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales.

  Score and interpret the diagnostic and neuropsychological assessments.

  Collaborate with other clinical team members in assessment and intervention and consult with other members of clinical team regarding diagnosis and intervention strategies, as needed.

  Meet minimum of 60% billable expectation (24 hours of billable time each 40-hour week)

  The clinical work for this position will be closely supervised by the Director of Clinical Services. This may include but is not limited to regular meetings (up to weekly), annual client meetings, annual reviews, and other more informal check in opportunities. Additional, on-site support may be provided and recommended based on experience.Programmatic Duties - 40%

  Provide consultation to community providers who work with patients in order to develop continuity in care for the patient and their family.

  Interface with University of Washington staff, faculty, departments, and students to provide services, support, and training when applicable.

  Keep appropriate records of services provided and coordinate with the billing office and direct supervisor regarding services to meet billable expectations.

  Complete initial client/patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, referral letters, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.

  Supervise undergraduate and graduate practicum students and volunteers and evaluate their performance. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  PhD in Psychology or PsyD.

  Licensed Clinical Psychologist; Licensure and certification in field as legally required.

  2+ years of experience in the psychological assessment of children under 3 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.

  Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  Child clinical psychology training.

  Proficient in the administration of the ADOS-2 modules 1-4 and Toddler Module. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  Experience and skills in conducting professional workshops or other training activities.

  Comfortable presenting to large groups of other professionals.

  An approach to working with colleagues that enhances collaboration and team building.

  Ability to exercise independent judgment, manage competing priorities, strong organization skills.

  Please note that this position may require travel to training and birth to 3 clinical sites; the ability and flexibility to reliably travel to alternate work locations is critical.

  Access to vehicle for commuting to and from place of work to other sites.
