This individual will provide project teams with a wide range of geotechnical design and construction support, ranging from preparation and review of technical reports, specifications, and drawings, to providing analyses and developing recommendations for shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization, excavation support, trenchless/tunnel construction, ground improvement, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that strongly values client service, high quality work, and employee growth and satisfaction.Detailed Description:Provide guidance and support on the selection and implementation of geotechnical solutions for all aspects of projects within BC.Assist in the selection and evaluation of geotechnical subconsultants and provide guidance for field explorations, locations and types of explorations, and testing required for design and construction.Prepare and review geotechnical-related scoping for contracts.Oversee and direct the work of geotechnical subconsultants and be accountable for design production and quality.Assist with innovative solutions for projects with difficult soil-related challenges.Assist in the development of geotechnical design solutions.Provide budgetary estimates and schedules for geotechnical engineering support on a variety of BC projects.Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and for professional meetings.Maintain status as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas of geotechnical engineering and support development of internal geotechnical standards and guidelines.Provide support in the development of internal training programs for BC Client Service Managers, Project Managers, and leadership team, to educate internal team members on our geotechnical capabilities.Assist in identifying skill and expertise gaps to meet the current and future market opportunities and help facilitate recruiting efforts.Participate in conferences and seminars and represent BC in social, community, and business situations.*This role has the potential to work virtually and can be filled near any BC office, with preference in the Midwestern region.Desired Skills and Experience:Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical).Minimum of 25 years' experience in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations and geotechnical characterization.PE license required and ability to acquire licensure in multiple states as required.Experience with earthwork, foundation, excavation support, and dewatering design.Experience or familiarity with commercial software (MathCAD, LPile, PLAXIS, Slide2, SWedge, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, etc.)Proficient with MS-based computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Experience in project and/or sub-consultant management.Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently, and in both local and remote team environments.Experience in design of various geotechnical related systems as referenced above and familiar with design standards, including regulatory and building code requirements.Ability to lead or support several projects with an understanding of overall goals and objectives.Good technical skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally.Candidate may be required to travel, up to 20% of the time.Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is base
