The anticipated salary range for this role is between $78,000.00 and $118,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
Serve as the central contact for assigned stakeholders for mobility, including the assignee, the company and suppliers. Manage all aspects of employee mobility, cross-border immigration, taxation and relocations. Manage the company's mobility policy and monitor trends in the market and compliance changes that may warrant updates to the policy.
Role Objectives: Delivery
Support general inquiries and administration related to all aspects of the company's mobility program and processes. Source and maintain databases / information related to all assignments, services, expenses and benefits. Calculate gross-up analyses, relocation estimates and/or other costs associated to the assignment. Support transfer / relocation letter process, understand and communicate mobility policies and processes to help ensure all required stakeholders understand guidelines. Organize and maintain feedback from assignees, vendors and other stakeholders to help ensure best practices and high satisfaction experience. Coordinate and effectively communicate with vendors / suppliers to help facilitate internal stakeholder experience. Prepare expense, status and program reports related to mobility.
Role Objectives: Interpersonal
Partner with internal clients (business line and infrastructure assignees and managers) generally to help support and enable mobility policies, programs and/or resolve basic inquiries. Partner closely with talent acquisition / recruiting, HR operations / shared services and talent management to help generate transfer / relocation letters, coordinate / facilitate third party communications related to relocation (i.e., temp housing, movers, etc.). Partner with total rewards and HRBPs to remain aligned regarding assignee status and related compensation requirements. Engage with legal, finance, tax, compliance and other infrastructure partners to effectively implement and communicate policy, processes and data to remain in compliance with regulations and the company's values. Build a strong external network with suppliers and third party vendors.
Role Objectives: Expertise
Demonstrate a foundational understanding of a variety of mobility- related activities and systems to improve the tactical and operational administration of mobility programs. Demonstrate strong technical acumen in a variety of applications / software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel) and acquire a new technical skill to broaden and increase technical acumen, efficiencies and automation. Demonstrate a foundational understanding of employment / labor laws (i.e., U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), regulator (i.e., DOL, DHS, etc.) requirements and internal security / privacy requirements (i.e., PPI, data security) to help support compliance across activities. Research trends and/or ideas related to mobility (and HR broadly) and participate in training, workshops, societies, etc. and review professional publications to stay abreast of the evolving mobility requirements and/or competitive landscape.
