JOB SUMMARY: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will be responsible for following guidelines and implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all medical aspects of the company’s programs in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization. Reports directly to BHU Nurse Manager and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, he/she will work within the guidelines, policies and mission of the company and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in the care and management of psychiatric patients in a specified setting.
Administers treatments as prescribed by Medical Director. Conducts and/or leads daily rounds, facilitates vitals and medication administration.
Assist patients in activities of daily living.
Observes, records, and reports stability of changes in the patient’ condition.
Interacts with patients on a 1:1 basis in a therapeutic manner.
Utilizes individual usage care plans according to patient care standards.
Assists in the admission process including data collection and orientation to the unit and program.
Monitor safely of the therapeutic milieu and assists in the management of an assaultive patient.
Documents pertinent patient interactions, patient data collected and patient responses to therapeutic interventions.
Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse / Medical Director provides nursing care in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies and procedures.
Completes tasks in an orderly and timely fashion.
Utilizes resources (supplies, equipment, etc.) in a safe, cost effective and therapeutic manner.
COMMUNICATION/KNOWLEDGE:
Provides accurate and timely written and verbal communication of clinical information in a manner that is understood by all involved in the delivery of patient care.
Able to listen, understand, problem-solve, and carry-out duties to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
Able to use IT systems in an accurate and proficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year experience as an LVT caring for mental health patients in an acute inpatient setting preferred.Education:
Graduate of an accredited LVN school or college.Licensure/Certifications:
Current LVN licensure in good standing with California Board of Nursing.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current MAB certification.
