We are currently looking for a Temporary Janitor to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within our facility, working 5 hours per day, 25 hours per week. The position is temporary, with an expected duration of 30 days. $16.00/hour 1604 East Lake Street, Mpls, MN 55407 Qualifications High School diploma or GED preferred. Experience in janitorial work desired. Ability to accept supervision and instruction. Demonstrate ability to perform independently. Possess a positive attitude, and work well with others. Valid Driver's License. (Must meet the guidelines provided by the State of residence and the automobile insurance provider as pertaining to corps' passenger vans/buses.) Must pass The Salvation Army background checks and meet the MVR driver's qualifications. Willingness to support the philosophy, goals, objectives, and mission of The Salvation Army. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This job description is not all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Engage all community members (including and not limited to, clients, participants, visitors, volunteers, etc.) in a way that brings them to the Corps for programming, activities, events, and Pathway of Hope Clean commercial kitchen and dining room daily and deep clean as instructed. Broom sweep all floors, vacuum all carpeted areas, mop floors daily, buff/polish tile floor according to schedule, and clean up spills in all areas. Clean all glass, wood surfaces, and stainless steel surfaces using proper cleaning methods. Clean and sanitize all restrooms and fill all dispensers; soap, paper towel, toilet paper. Clean and vacuum chapel and pew chairs, clean hallways, entrances and reception areas daily. Clean and vacuum office areas when asked by supervisors. Collect and empty trash from kitchen daily. All other areas as needed. Arrange, set up, and prepare rooms for all Corps programs as instructed. Keep all maintenance and janitorial supplies in good order. Inform the office, in writing, when low on supplies. Keep janitor's room in orderly and clean fashion. Clean outside grounds daily. Shovel snow from sidewalks as necessary. Perform heavy cleaning when necessary. Report safety hazards to supervisors immediately. Make minor independent judgments based on prescribed procedures and policies when cleaning. Maintain Corps vehicles in a cleanly and tidy manner. All other duties as assigned.
