  JOB SUMMARY

  Job Profile Summary

  The Technician is responsible for providing operational, technical, electrical, and mechanical support for all facility assets. Incumbents are responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area.

  Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  Provide the primary technical support for assigned location(s):

  Maintain a working knowledge of company policies/procedures as they relate to the operation/maintenance of the assigned assets, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices. Attend and actively participate in required safety meetings.

  Perform routine testing, inspection, and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all assigned mainline and facility equipment/systems, including but not limited to: pumps, electric motors, electrical equipment, electronic and/or pneumatic instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, measurement systems, product testing & analysis, piping systems, valves, centrifugal, positive displacement pumps, positive displacement meters, turbine meters, and similar other equipment and systems.

  Complete and maintain required documentation/records associated with performed maintenance and repair.

  Manage location projects, including major overhauls, troubleshooting for pumps and mechanical seals, new installations, or modifications of existing equipment, etc.

  Responsible for ensuring location specific equipment issues, to include failures, inefficient operation, safety related concerns, and/or inoperable conditions, associated with facility equipment are analyzed for root cause(s) and corrective action(s) taken as necessary. Examples include: working with team members to identify areas of unacceptable vibration, conducting vibration analyses, and recommending corrective action(s); ensuring overhauls of equipment are conducted as necessary; troubleshooting (and then remedying) issues with pumps, VCU/VRU/flare, additive systems/panels, electrical issues, seals, rack equipment, etc.

  Responsible for actively participating as a stakeholder on growth projects located within his/her assigned area of responsibility, to include review/approval of design, participation in installation/construction, and participation in check-out(s).

  Responsible for installing like-kind replacement equipment, conducting start-up testing, and ensuring all programmable logic associated with the equipment/system is operational.

  Responsible for providing leadership/mentorship to non-senior technicians and operators (as applicable), and for providing/sharing knowledge/experiences with other technicians across the Company. The Senior Technician position must be able to train other team members and critically evaluate the skills of other technicians they are training and/or mentoring.

  Perform other functions as requested by the Supervisor of Operations

  Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

  Education

  H.S. DiplomaWork Experience

  3 - 5 years related work experience experience in the maintenance and operation of Refined Products Pipelines, Terminals, Pump Stations, or equivalent industry experience. requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

  Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction (Constantly)

  Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hand or hands (Manual Dexterity) (Constantly)

  Fingering: Picking, pinching or otherwise working with the fingers primarily (Finger Dexterity) (Constantly)

  Feeling: Perceiving such attributes of objects/materials as size, shape, temperature, texture, movement or pulsation by receptors in the skin, particularly those of the finger tips (Constantly)

  Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas/information by means of the spoken word (Frequently)

  Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by the ear (Frequently)

  Near Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less (Constantly)
