Position: Golf Mechanic at Foothills Golf Course

Under the supervision of the Equipment Manager, this position is responsiblefor performing all of the service, maintenance and repair work for the fleetof golf carts, various mowers, tractors and other equipment at FoothillsGolf Course. Evening work may be required on an emergency basis. Weekend andholiday work required on a rotating schedule.
Job Duties:
Performs services, preventative maintenance and repairs to all golf coursevehicles and equipment.Establishes a preventive maintenance program for all golf course vehicles andequipment.Keeps an adequate inventory by ordering necessary parts to accomplish dailyrepairs and services.Repairs and maintains gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic andnon-hydraulic units.Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.Responsible for establishing a preventative maintenance program.Establishes and performs reel grinding and adjustments as required.Accurately completes repair orders, time sheets, purchase orders and otherforms.Train, supervise, evaluate, and plan workflow for assigned personnel.Assist other departments with District events and course maintenanceactivities as needed.Maintain and care for repair shop facilities.Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide informationwithin the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timelymanner.Correct or inform supervisor of any hazards; communicate issues/complaintsto supervisor as needed.Maintain accurate SDS records and fuel storage site records in accordance withstate requirements.Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.Other duties as assigned.Work Environment: Requires standing for 75% to 100% of the day. Thisposition requires working both indoors and outdoors with frequent exposure toextreme cold, heat, sun, wet, snow, humid or icy conditions.Frequent exposure to noise, fumes, dusts, mists, gases, chemicalhazards, and ultraviolet rays produced by ARC welding equipment. Constantexposure to grasses, molds, fertilizers, solvents, oils, greases,gasoline and diesel fuels. While performing the duties of this job, theemployee will work near moving mechanical parts.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk,climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift and exhibit manual dexterity with theability to handle objects, and frequent stooping or lying down with overheadwork 15% to 50% of the day. Must be able to occasionally push, pull orbalance. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift /move a maximum of 50pounds unassisted and lift /move a maximum of 75 pounds with assistance.Vision requirements include near acuity, far acuity, and depth perceptionand color vision. The position requires the sense of smell and touch. Requiresthe ability to communicate both orally and in writing and execute oral andwritten instructions with understanding. Must have the ability to talk andhear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication.
Required Experience:
Graduation from high school or completion of GED.Three (3) years experience equipment/automotive repair, vocationaland/or trade school; or any equivalent combination of acceptable educationand years of experience.Current certifications in AED/CPR or the ability to obtain suchcertifications within sixty (60) days of employment.Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtainone within thirty (30) days of employment. Must be insurable by theDistrict carrier at the onset and for the duration of employment.Requires a working knowledge of hydraulics and gasoline and diesel engines.Knowledge of methods, means, and mat rials necessary to diagnose,repair, and maintain vehicles and turf equipment include golf carts,mowing equipment, and turf trucksters.Working knowledge and competence in the use of welding equipment,tire-changing equipment and related mechanic's and shop tools including reeland bedknife grinders.Must have a complete set of hand tools needed to carry out assigned duties.Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and general office equipment(computer, copier, fax, phone, etc.).
