  Job Description Summary

  GE's Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

  We are looking for an engineer who is experienced in power electronics systems to support our installed base of drive systems worldwide. The work will include troubleshooting problems, identifying and implementing solutions, and providing advice and support to our customers on hardware- and software-related issues on our range of variable-frequency drives/converters.

  Job Description

  In this role you will work within the technical support team, liaising with customers and our engineering/development teams to resolve customers' issues on our range of variable-frequency drive systems. Resolutions of problems may involve modifications to software and hardware, which you will identify and/or implement, and you will support our field service engineers when they are on site. You will carry out analysis of diagnostic files, and you will collaborate with your team members to resolve complex issues. It will be necessary for you to work at customer sites from time to time.

  The role may also involve contributing to customer training material and delivery of such courses. You will also work with our sales teams to advise on the technical aspects of our bids for upgrades or new drive systems.

  You will help to drive improvements in products, processes and procedures.

  We are looking for a committed and professional individual with, typically, a degree in engineering from an accredited university, with several years of experience working with variable-speed drive systems, such as design, installation or maintenance. Experience of programming PLCs and HMIs is required.
