About the Department
The Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center within the Department ofRadiology is a NIH funded center. MIDRC is a multi-institutionalcollaborative initiative driven by the medical imaging community thatwas initiated in late summer 2020 to help combat the global COVID-19health emergency. The aim of MIDRC is to foster machine learninginnovation through data sharing for rapid and flexible collection,analysis, and dissemination of imaging and associated clinical data byproviding researchers with unparalleled resources.
This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grantfunding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of thecontract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt ofthese grant funds and satisfactory job performance.
Job Summary
The Director of Finance and Administration is the senior administrativeposition & provides thought leadership to develop strategicadministrative initiatives that meet the mission of the Medical Imagingand Data Resource Center. Oversees the effective, compliant, & efficientdaily management of all operational, financial, & business functions insupport of the center\'s goals. Manages center staff. Workscollaboratively with center personnel within UChicago and otherinstitutions, including NIH personnel.
Responsibilities
Leads and oversees all administrative functions to implementbusiness strategies to support the research portfolio within theunit.Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to administrativestaff. Function as a resource for best practices and expertise.Develop, coordinate, and execute strategic, operating, talent, andfunding plans across unit.Guide unit leaders to ensure the approaches in the functional areasalign with the broader organizational goals and plans.Develop, build, and maintain successful business relationships withcollaborators and stakeholders. Prepare and present reports toleadership.Be a visible, engaged, and collaborative leader, representing thelab and University of Chicago across various mediums and audienceswith the goal of advancing our research initiatives andorganization.Work with procurement and appropriate business units with theUniversity to ensure compliance with all university and federalcontract guidelines and regulations.Provide oversight and management of the activities of the center,including interacting with the subcontract sites, and multipleprincipal investigators.Serve as the lead administrator for the center.Interact with and represent the center to sponsors.Prepare proposals and budgets with center faculty and staff.Manages employees by establishing annual performance goals,allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and determiningindividual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases.Manages program operations and administrative functions which mayinclude planning and scheduling, program evaluation, policyimplementation, personnel administration, budget, marketing,fundraising and proposal development.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in relatedfield.
