DescriptionThe Department of Student Life at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a CARE Director.As a member of Student Life's Leadership Team, the Director of CARE provides oversight of campus wide case management and support services for students, including crisis response. This position is responsible with addressing the needs of distressed students, providing intervention and ensuring students have access to appropriate support, services, and resources. The Director is responsible for completing psychosocial needs assessments, case management, and collaboration and consultation with faculty administrators, health care providers, parents, colleagues within the Division of Student Life (including Carruth), and the University at large. The Director will assist with campus partners to provide university-wide training on how to manage student-related concerns and serve as a key campus consultant to manage complex student matters.We strongly believe in work-life balance and keeping time for things we love outside our work. Check out retirement health insurance benefits, retirement income, and FAQ's.Wellness programsWhat you'll do:Provide support to all campus-wide case management services within various units on campus (Residence Life, DEI, CARE, Advocacy, REACH, Office of Rights & Responsibilities, UPD, HMU) to ensure a streamlined and comprehensive response to student needs as "one WVU"Manage and oversee incoming CARE Team referrals and provide necessary consultation to Advocacy staff to determine appropriate level of response.Develop and maintain a training program through the Social Work Department to serve as a practicum site for 2-3 master's level students per year. Provide yearly training and supervision to the MSW trainees.Oversee and provide campus-wide training on student mental health concerns, classroom management and referral processes.Develop and coordinate annual training for CARE Team and Ad-Hoc members.Collaborate with the Carruth Center and other units across campus on a range of trainings related to student needsProvide comprehensive case management with students experiencing varying levels of crisis and concern including assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating actions required to meet the students' needsOversee and manage crises and emergent situations pertaining to individual and campus safety; identify next steps, implement appropriate policy and practice, utilizing appropriate notification and crisis response protocol as neededQualificationsMaster's degree in...
