In the role of Library Directoryou will beworking in ResearchOffice. Purpose The Office of Research helps to facilitate life-savingbiomedical research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Nine distinctunits provide specialized support to meet the administrative needs ofour basic science, clinical, and translational investigators andresearch staff. Together we coordinate, regulate, and monitor researchstudies as well as provide high quality services for investigativeteams. The MCW Libraries supports all institutional missions andpartners by providing access to and support for information resources,and specialized services for a diverse population of faculty,researchers, students, clinicians, staff, and community members. TheDirector, MCW Libraries, promotes and leads all aspects of libraryservice, collection, development, strategic planning, budgetadministration, personnel management, policy formulation, and facilitiesplanning for the MCW Libraries. As an academic medical center, MCWrequires a library resource that supports all institutional missions(research, patient care, education and community engagement), and theDirector plays an integral role in ensuring collaborative partnershipsas a strategic partner. The Director ensures the operations of theLibraries are high-quality, efficient, and service-oriented, andeffectively leverages digital strategies. The Director also balances alarge collection budget with fiscal prudence and ensures all librarymaterials, tools, and services are value adds. Primary Functions Leadthe library as a valued partner and resource and ensure alignment withthe mission and strategic plan of the College and our clinical partners.Prepare and effectively manage the library\'s budget, monitoringexpenditures to ensure a proper and balanced mix of library holdings,providing effective programs, and planning future budget needs for thecollection, personnel, equipment, facilities, and services. Manage thelibrary\'s collections (print and electronic), setting priorities anddirection in concert with key stakeholders in a fair and balancedmanner. Engage in business decisions such as affiliate budgeting and newacquisitions as an agent of the library regarding user base totals,utilization, and costs. Advise and participate in...
