About Director, Finance & Operations

  The Director, Finance is a key position responsible for managing the Sony Music CMG Financial Reporting team in all aspects of finance and operations, as well as being an integral part of the month-end close process/monthly forecast/annual budget.

  What you'll do:Oversee the month-end close process and review consolidated reports for accuracy, investigate unusual fluctuations, transactions; Manage the monthly forecast/annual budget process, including the BP overhead allocation to Business Units and ensure it all gets done in a timely fashionOversee and assist with audit deliverables and related inquiries including preparation of additional supporting documentationOverhead Management and Reporting:

  * Prepare monthly forecasts/annual budgets, working with department heads

  * Review monthly overhead and T&E reports that get distributed, working with department heads to manage costs

  * Approve expense reports, travel, invoices, vendor requests, etc Partner with Creative Group Management to provide operational support and business advisory in relation to day to day matters, as well as other complex business issuesOwnership of identified process improvements and overseeing those projects through to completionDevelop and maintain strong working relationships and liaise with label, shared services, Corporate teams and external partners as requiredProvide ongoing hands on supervision, coaching and development of staffWho you are:Bachelor's degree with concentration in Finance or Accounting.Minimum 7-10 years of business experience in financial analysis role (entertainment / music industry experience a plus, with an interest in music being ideal).Working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting preferredProficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)Experience with SAP business software preferred.Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to consolidate and summarize large amounts of data down to a management reporting level.Excellent presentation skills, with an ability to present the data to management, including speaking to the trends and major drivers of the activity.Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks.Must demonstrate strong initiative.Ability to proactively and productively work in team settings, including being receptive, open minded and objective when encountering diverse points of view.Must set high standards of performance for one's self, strive for distinction in all tasks and exhibit sense of pride in work product.

  The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

  New York Pay Range

  $140,000-$150,000 USD

  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.

  Minimum Salary: 31200.00Maximum Salary: 31200.00Salary Unit: Yearly
