Position Summary
Penske Truck Leasing, the leader in the transportation industry, has an exciting and unique opportunity to leverage your passion for heavy-duty shop equipment and tools. As a Quality Specialist you will be focused on tasks associated with the research, design and evaluation of new and existing shop tools and equipment. This role is designed to be entry level for the Tooling & Service Bay Technology arena working 5 days a week, Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm. Your success will make a positive impact on our maintenance facility operations, Technicians, Supervisors and Service Managers daily lives, contributing to the overall success of the business.
A typical day will involve validating process and procedures utilizing tools and executing internal testing plans, recording the data and reporting the results to the Project Manager. You will interact regularly with other members of the Tooling & Service Bay Technology team to identify areas of process and tooling improvement. Penske tooling and equipment enables our world-class technicians and customer service representatives to perform quality preventative maintenance service and repairs on 400,000+ vehicles. Major Responsibilities:
Execute tooling and equipment evaluation tasks.
Record test results in accordance with the Project Manager’s requirements.
Shipping/Receiving of tools and equipment for various projects.
Communicate finding to Project Manager, Maintenance Support Coordinators, and other Maintenance teams.
Identify areas of improvement to tooling.
Identify areas of process improvement.
Other duties and tasks as required by supervisor.
General Qualifications
0-2 years as an automotive or heavy duty technician with diagnostics and repair experience preferred.
ASE Certifications preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates or Tech School Degree preferred
Excellent organization, customer service and communication skills
Experience using tools of the trade (Including computers, tablets, cellular devices, hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment, etc).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications (Including Outlook, Teams, Smartsheet and Salesforce, etc)
Regular, Predictable, full time attendance is an essential function of this job
Willingness to travel locally. work the required schedule, work at the specific location, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment and education) and pass a drug screening.

Given the frequent movement of large trucks through the workplace, the associate must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.
The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
