Client Summary:
The Health System is designed to increase efficiencies and economies of scale; improve quality and outcomes; and expand access to advanced primary, specialty, and ambulatory care services throughout a wide clinical network. The Health System includes more than 7,200 physicians, including general practitioners and specialists, and 13 free-standing joint-venture centers.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
2. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure the equipment is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed.
3. Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol.
4. Observes all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, charge documents, as well as, reporting equipment problems in order to comply with regulatory agencies.
5. Performs quality control, quality assurance and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
6. Maintains and develops and retrieves patient films and electronic date for Radiologist interpretation.
7. Orders patient-specific radio pharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
8. Receives radio pharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the does prior to administration.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Requirements include licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist, ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, and BLS certification. At least 1 year of CT experience; Graduate of Radiologic Technologist
New York State License (L.R.T), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT and current CT certification)
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:
Performs CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols in order to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient's needs prior to, during and after visits in the
Radiology department.
