POSITION SUMMARY

Wheeler's Congregate Care programs offer intensive therapeutic interventions to youth with serious behavioral health concerns, who have experienced significant trauma, and are now living in community-based, home-like environments. We are looking for a clinician to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and provide individualized therapeutic services to youth and their families, utilizing evidence based treatments and other empirically supported interventions matched to the unique treatment needs of each client. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related license eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required. Experience working with youth and families from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds, as well as exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational and writing skills are also required.
Valid driver's license is required.
Credential(s) Required: LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMFTA, LPC, LPCA or licensed or license eligible psychologist required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). Develops and documents clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others, as relevant.
Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral concerns and primary modalities of psycho-therapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practice and evidence-based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.
Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner.
Identifies potential risk factors and taking measures to reduce those risks in the milieu through reinforcement of positive and safe behaviors, trauma-informed and relationally-based therapeutic interventions, and reporting of suspected child abuse/neglect, according to agency policies and procedures.
Trains and participates in emergency safety interventions authorized and approved by the agency, when a student presents with an imminent safety concern.
Communicates in a positive, effective manner with clients, families and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings.
Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, adheres to practice standards, data collection and reporting protocols.
Documents all client-related information in compliance with agency policy.
Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.
Provides service in the office and /or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program.
Maintains required license and certifications.
Reports child abuse/neglect as mandated, adheres to confidentiality guidelines and meets all necessary licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards, as related to the program, staff, records and care of youth.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
