About Civil/Highway Group Lead

Our People & Places Solutions business – reinforces our drive to improve the lives of people everywhere and epitomizes the "why" of what we do – the tremendous positive impact and value our solutions bring to our communities and society as a whole. From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology – we're integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.

Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.

  Your Impact:

At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future – today. We are seeking a Civil/Highway Group Lead to provide inspirational leadership to a team of engineers who are working on some of New York’s most challenging and fast-paced infrastructure projects.

When you join us, you’ll have the opportunity to use your vast experience in the industry and apply it to solving today’s challenges. The staff you will guide will be focused on highway and urban street design, civil site layout, grading and drainage design, utility design, and work zone traffic control design.

As a senior member of our team, you’ll play an integral role in recruiting and mentoring staff to cultivate a high-performance team, forming long-term relationships with clients and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts.

We’ll look to your expertise and skills to provide effective program and project management support to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and add value to the business by applying proven project management techniques. You will also manage select projects and task order contracts.

Let us empower you (and your team) to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow, and succeed.

At Jacobs, we’re partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. By joining Jacobs, you’ll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other.

Jacobs’ health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. Your well-being. Your security. Your future. Employees have access to medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, one floating holiday, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $240,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY

  • Experience leading and delivering $50M+ transportation infrastructure projects

  • Civil/Highway design experience on design-build projects, preferably in New York

  • Experience in management and coordination of transportation infrastructure projects including design, resourcing, budgeting, documentation, and project management

  • Strong relationships with NYC metropolitan area agencies, including MTA, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NYSDOT, and PANYNJ as well as major contractors

  • Experience leading, managing, and developing a team of civil/highway engineers
