Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates Civil, Structural, and Architectural design and construction of factory buildings and sites used for production. Technical expertise to include project scope development, civil site development, building structural and enclosure systems, and management of civil, structural, and architectural design consultants to ensure that company standards and expectations are met from inception to installation on a project.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Job requires broad knowledge of civil site, structural, and architectural systems.
• Be engaged with corporate engineering team to understand project team structure, scopes, design, and coordination reviews.
• Work cross-functionally with external consultants to review site work, proposed buildings, buildings modifications, and equipment installations for code and zoning compliance
• Provide engineering review and management of onsite civil, structural, and architectural construction for capital projects.
• Oversee field observations, 3rd party testing services, and management of civil, structural, and architectural trades to ensure construction is per design and standards.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to submit required construction permits including but not limited to demolition, building, and occupancy permits.
• Review and approve contractor means and methods for construction at factories in operation
• Review and evaluate feasibility and cost estimates by contractors for existing and new factory sites and buildings
• Position requires to be onsite at factory location for duration of project. Some travel to St. Louis for training and design coordination will be required.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer, highly recommended
Experience (Years/Type):
• 5 Years minimum experience in civil or structural design
• Experience working in a multi-discipline team to deliver industrial capital projects
• Experience in industrial, federal, healthcare, higher education, entertainment, or commercial markets.
• Experience with projects requiring hygienic food and industrial manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience reviewing 2D drawings and 3D Models.
Skills:
• Ability to multi-task across several projects at a time.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical subject matter.
• Ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.
• Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD
