The Business Compliance and Tax Specialist position has become available with our growth. It is an exciting opportunity to learn and support the finance team that is dedicated to providing support across the organization. We are seeking someone with an eye to detail, likes interacting with various people and departments across the company, and willing to do what it takes to provide that support. This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will be located in our Murray, Utah headquarters office.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has already worked in a relevant role in one of their previous organizations. We are looking for someone that is able to balance multiple priorities, an eye to detail, knowledgeable in business compliance and tax.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain licensing, the renewal license application by logging all information correctly and timely;
Manage the daily obligations of our business and professional licenses, submitting materials for director and officer changes, managing our bond program, among others;
Research regulatory and compliance requirements for new licensing obligations, changes to state/federal regulations and as changes to our business model occur;
Maintain a broad working knowledge and awareness of the industry and regulatory and/or policy changes with potential impact on compliance monitoring or reporting;
Oversee prequalification process with new customers or for renewals;
Manage and oversee tax reporting policies and processes;
Manage the companies' compliance with property, personal property, sales and use, payroll and any other tax requirements as needed;
Responsible for census reporting on periodic basis;
Assist with external tax preparation for Owners as needed;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Develop productive working relationships with the company's Owners, Finance and Accounting, and Operations Team;
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience, tax or business compliance related, strongly preferred;
Experience working with Corporation Service Company (“CSC”) strongly preferred;
Experience with various tax accounting matters preferred;
Excellent research and project management skills with focus on documentation and organization;
Demonstrated ability to successfully work with others and build strong cross organizational relationships;
Ability to adapt communication styles to effectively interface with Owners and Senior Leadership;
Competency in regulatory or legal research;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
