  The Job:

  As a Battery Safety Technician, you’ll be part of our EHS team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to:

  Assist in maintaining battery safety programs related to research, new product development (NPD) and compliance testing for the Towson Labs.

  Be a member of the Battery Emergency Response Team, participate in the emergency preparedness and be one of the first responding to an incident.

  Be responsible for all battery recycling for the Towson and Mylander Sites.

  Serve as the Towson EHS Team’s representative in partnering with test, engineering, and compliance teams to integrate engineering controls into existing processes and facilities. Participate in the battery testing safety review as needed.

  Conduct Battery Safety training, Labhood safe use training, etc.

  Maintain lithium-ion Battery, Hazardous Materials Dangerous Goods Transportation procedures and training programs for the Towson Sites.

  Maintain battery storage programs on the Towson and Mylander Sites.

  Associate degree in a technical field - or – 2+ years of professional experience with batteries, electronics, manufacturing, research and development, hazardous materials/dangerous goods shipping or a related technical field.

  Familiarity with DOT, IATA, ICAO, PHMSA and other regulations dealing with batteries.

  Electrical/Electronic Design/Operation/Testing
