  Job Description SummaryResponsible for planning, performing and documenting continuous auditing functions and processes. Performs special investigations and serves as a consultant on various Credit Union processes. Performs research and analysis to protect the Credit Union from loss and exposure.

  Job DescriptionEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentifies the key control points of the system by utilizing various techniques and methods to determine the nature of operations and the effectiveness and adequacy of the system of internal control to achieve established objectives.Performs review of the effectiveness and application of risk assessment methodologies and risk management procedures.Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency or performance of the activities being reviewed.Prepares summaries of the audit procedures performed and the results achieved at the conclusion of each audit.Assists in developing recommendations for remedial action to improve operations within an agreed upon implementation schedule. Conducts follow-up discussion and tests to ascertain whether agreed upon corrective measures have been implemented.Stays abreast of all Internal Audit industry code of ethics and standards, as well as all applicable State, Federal and NCUA laws and regulations regarding Credit Union operations.Company Wide ExpectationsMaintains a professional image and demeanor at all times, consistently demonstrating Credit Union RISE Values and adhering to the Code of Ethics.Delivers friendly, caring service to internal and external members.Complies with all applicable State, Federal and NCUA rules and regulations and all Credit Union policies and procedures.Follow all physical and online security procedures and maintain strict confidentiality of all member information.Completes all required regulatory and compliance training and maintains required knowledge of Credit Union products and services.Works scheduled hours and maintains punctuality.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCETo perform this job satisfactorily, an employee must be able to carry out each essential duty competently. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and abilities required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  Education Requirements

  4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Accounting or other business related field - Required

  Maintain active membership in The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) - Required

  Experience Requirement

  1 Year - Financial industry operations experience - Required

  SKILLS/ABILITIESEffectively apply internal and external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions.Provide guidance in the resolution of problems utilizing knowledge and experience within areas of responsibility.Use logic, reasoning and mathematical skills to solve practical problems and make sound decisions.Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.Operate computers and use business software and other standard office equipment.Understand and fo low written and oral instructions.Set priorities and manage ones own time effectively.   Physical Requirements
