JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Evaluates physical conditions and advises andtreats athletes to maintain maximum physical fitness for participationin athletic competition by performing the following duties:Responsibilities Performs assessment of injury or condition and takesappropriate follow up steps to ensure safe and proper care Prescribesroutine, preventive and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles,increase balance and improve flexibility Provide practice, game/eventcoverage for assigned area Respond to medical emergencies and provideassessment, stabilization and first aid Make recommendations forathletic participation and return to sport guidelines Complete accuratedocumentation of assessment and referrals Refer athletes to physicianfor continued care per protocol Perform manual techniques and utilizetaping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve function Collaboratewith sports medicine providers, physicians and other allied healthprofessionals May work in a clinic setting with physician or under thedirection of a physical therapist Education and Experience Graduate ofan accredited school of Athletic Training Certification/LicensureLicensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL or both if required ApprovedCPR or BLS certification required within 90 days BOC certification Forthose driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver\'s license.Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth\'s HR.100Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
