Your Role: The Associate Production Scientist atMilliporeSigma will manufacture or evaluate products according toestablished protocols, provide technical support to others and performoperations in support of the group and department. Responsibilitiesinclude the following: * Perform operations to meet qualityexpectations throughout the process * Perform routine assays, processesand/or unit operations * Complete the volume of work required toachieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines * Contribute tosupport functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, preparereagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal) * Communicate thestatus of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor* Provide complete and accurate records consistent with qualityguidelines * Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled outcompletely as required by current procedures * Interact with otherdepartments as needed * Participate as needed in quality audits *Improve processes through application of scientific knowledge,experience, and principles while in compliance with change controlprocedures * Identify opportunities for process improvement *Participate in process improvements under the guidance of a Supervisoror Scientist * Resolve any unsafe conditions * Train personnel * Actas a technical consultant as needed * Perform and interpret analyticalevaluations of products and intermediates * Supply information based onexperience and knowledge * Work in both a large-scale processenvironment and a glass lab environment * Shift/hours: 12 hour Nightshift (2-2-3 schedule) with hours of 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM PhysicalAttributes: * Work with open chemicals; wear appropriate PPE (includingrespirator, hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suites,gloves, safety shoes) * Routinely lift up to 50 lbs * Push and pullheavy materials Who You Are Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor\'sDegree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other life sciencediscipline OR * High School Diploma or GED * 4+ years of workexperience in a chemical production, laboratory, or chemical engineeringrole Preferred Qualifications: * Strong knowledge of chemistry, math,and general science * Chemical production experience on the glasswarescale * Familiarity with laboratory instruments and productionequipment * Independent chemistry research lab or industrial experience* Process techniques and unit operations experience * Analyticaltechniques and equipment experience * Experience with safe chemicalhandling methods * Excellent communication skills, both verbal andwritten * Strong computer skills What we offer: We are curious mindsthat come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and lifeexperiences.
