About Accounts Payable Clerk

  Description Join a team of highly skilled, motivated professionals as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk through this opportunity offered by Robert Half. The candidate's responsibilities in this role include attending to the general needs of the AP/Finance Department, while working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Located in Houston, Texas, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary position.

  Your responsibilities

  Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling

  Carry out a full-cycle A/P

  Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed

  Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  Provide customer service to internal business partners

  Perform special projects as assigned

  Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

  Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department Requirements

  3+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  Microsoft Excel experience preferred

  Command of Accounts Payable (AP)

  Solid understanding of Manual Invoices

  Expert in Excel -VLOOKUP'S and Pivot Tables

  Proficiency in data entry

  Sage Intacct experience highly desired

  Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
