The University of Chicago\'s Department of Pediatrics, Section ofNeonatology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank.Appointees will provide coverage at the University of Chicago ComerChildren\'s Hospital NICU and contracted off-site locations. Otherduties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students,and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with expertiseand/or formal training in quality improvement,ECMO, outcomes research,informatics, point-of-care ultrasound, or analysis of structured EMRdata. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package offringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The Section of Neonatology is committed to excellence in education,research, patient care, and community service. It has 15 full-timefaculty members and other academic staff who attend the 71-bed unit inComer Children\'s Hospital and two community hospitals, providingcompassionate, evidence-based treatments in nurturing, family-centeredenvironments with state-of-the-art equipment. In collaboration with theMaternal-Fetal Service, the Section runs the University of ChicagoPerinatal Network with more than 10 affiliated community hospitals. TheSection has a fully accredited fellowship program with 10 trainees and arobust neonatal nurse practitioner program. Its faculty members areactively involved in research supported by federal and other extramuralgrants.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have amedical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medicallicensure in the States of Illinois and Indiana, 3) be Board certifiedor board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and 4) have cared fornewborns requiring intensive care within the past five years.
