The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Set-up and maintenance of production work cells.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Participates in on-the-job training to enhance skills related to job function, quality, safety, LEAN manufacturing, and other topics, as necessary.
Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements. Promotes and maintains a safe work environment; reinforces safety standards and sets the example for PPE, safety training and safe work practices.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or fiberglass and airborne particles, forklift movements and overhead crane usage. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop; bend; twist on a regular basis; stand for prolonged periods of time ; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus, as well as the ability to see and respond to potential worksite hazards. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel
Occasional travel is expected for this position. The employee must have a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of mechanical, electrical, or welding experience
A technical aptitude: the ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations; the ability to work well with others in a diverse group.
Good communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude without compromising quality.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Must be able to work in a team environment
