Job Overview
The Behavioral Health Specialist - Intensive Services is responsible fordirect patient care and safety including supervision and management ofchildren and adolescents hospitalized for severe psychiatric symptoms and areat risk for endangering themselves or other; performs duties and deliverstherapeutic interventions under the direction of a registered nurse orlicensed psychiatric professional. This position may encounter potentiallyvolatile care situations that could result in bodily harm.Neuropsychiatric Special Care (NSC)The Neuropsychiatric Special Care (NSC) Program provides acute psychiatrictreatment for children and adolescents (4-17 years old) diagnosed with anintellectual and/or developmental disability (e.g., Autism SpectrumDisorder; intellectual disability) who are experiencing a psychiatriccrisis (e.g., out-of-control behavior; suicidal ideation). The NSCprogram offers both inpatient and partial hospitalization programs (PHP).The NSC program's mission is to provide individualized and comprehensivetreatment to address each child and their family's unique needs.
