As a SEAT Manager, you will be responsible for the daily management, employment, briefing, and record-keeping of 1-3 Single Engine Air Tankers, pilots, and facilities at the direction of the State Chief of Air Operations. These assets are an essential element to the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Strategic Wildland Fire Aviation Initial Attack Response Plan. This position operates with a high degree of independence to provide timely, safe, and accurate aerial support to Washington's wildland firefighters. Responsibilities:
Request communications and operations support through the Fixed Wing Unit Manager.Utilize agency policies and guidance such as the NWCG Standards for Airtanker Base Operations, PMS 508, in decision-making and planning.Coordinate all tactical aircraft missions with local dispatch, aerial supervision, and/or the Fixed Wing Unit Manager. Obtains daily or more frequent briefings from one or all of these positions regarding mission priorities, operational, and tactical briefings.Serve as aviation liaison to airport management, federal, state, and local officials, the military, aircraft vendors, contractors, and Fixed Based Operators (FBOs), etc.Conduct daily briefings and mission briefings with the pilots, other contract personnel, and government employees assigned to the operation. Document on Daily Ops Sheet.Model leadership values and principles. Provide positive influence.
