The Military Division (Massachusetts National Guard) is seeking an administrative professional for the role of Personnel Officer I. The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for daily HR admin/clerical work within the agency. This integral role requires an organized and detailed-oriented professional who is committed to supporting the Human Resources Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in various clerical functions. The candidate must be willing to learn other functions performed in the Human Resources department within the Military Division. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive)___ · Assist with HR/CMS personnel transactions, such as new hires, transfers, terminations, suspensions, demotions, promotions, employee reimbursements. · Respond to employee inquiries via telephone/email. · Participate in any ad-hoc or special projects. · Assist in onboarding new employees. · Data entry and filing. · Reviews, updates, and inspects printouts. · Gathers records, documents, files for various needs. · Provides information to personnel regarding retirement, sick leave, vacation. · Writes correspondences, emails in response to personnel. · Perform other related duties as assigned. _ABOUT OUR AGENCY___ The Massachusetts Guard has a unique dual mission, with both federal and state responsibilities. During peacetime, Guard forces are commanded by the Governor through the State Adjutant General. The Governor can call the Guard into action during local or state-wide emergencies, such as storms, floods, blizzards, and civil disturbances. In addition, the President of the United States can activate the Massachusetts National Guard to participate in federal missions.
