  Providence is seeking a Manager Clinical Informatics – Education and Adoption PSJH:

  As a member of the Providence St. Joseph Health Clinical Informatics management team, the Manager, Clinical Informatics Education and Adoption is responsible for supporting PSJH CI education goals for EHR and other information systems deployment, sustainment, adoption, and optimization activities. This leader combines knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, training, communication, project management, and healthcare informatics, to provide direction, leadership, and coaching to teams responsible for the design, development, publication, and maintenance of change communication and learning deliverables with the goal of promoting safe, effective, and efficient use of information technology in clinical and business settings. Partnering with co-managers, this role leads cross-team bodies of work as assigned such as training environment management, project resourcing, Credential Trainer programs, change communication and learning deliverable standards, publishing and maintenance, publication platform management, and education evaluation.

  The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes a multidisciplinary team concept and reflects the Providence St. Joseph Health mission, vision, values, and philosophy.

  In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  Strategy Development, Alignment, and Collaboration:

  In collaboration with PSJH informatics and clinical leaders, helps to define and manage a EHR training and adoption program that supports EHR adoption and utilization of technology as intended, enhances the current clinical record, increases physician and clinician satisfaction, and improves the patient experience and clinical outcomes.

  Works collaboratively with other CI Education team members, Clinical and Business informatics team members, Regional trainers and operational stakeholders to identify the learning needs of target audiences, develop and validate training strategies to address the needs.

  Identifies opportunities to use new technologies and best practices to improve training design and delivery and supports team members in adoption of these technology and practices.

  Develops and implements standardized processes for the design, development, publication of change communication and learning deliverables.

  Management and Leadership:

  Oversees the development of change communication and curriculum design and development standards, processes, and templates to ensure consistency in the approach across projects and alignment with CI team objectives.

  Collaborates with CI teams to identify educational opportunities.

  Ensures training programs include post training evaluations that can be used to measure the effectiveness of the new or changed curriculum.

  Provides leadership in supporting team processes to address updates and improvements to deliverables maintaining the primary goal of enterprise standard content.

  Supports enhancement of team member expertise to maintain/develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes which promote excellence and productive team-orientated performance. Promotes and encourages positive team problem solving to empower employees to act effectively to cause change.

  Ensure projects are set up for successful execution. Monitors status of the projects and ensures adherence to timelines.

  Collaborates with education leadership team to provide clear and adequate communication of programs to other CI system program and regional teams and stakeholders.

  Serves as a informatics education consultant to CI, IT, and project teams.

  Operations:

  Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of instructional design, change communication and curriculum development, delivery, and maintenance in support of clinical and business informatics programs.

  Monitors and evaluates team performance; optimizes existing operational activities, structures and processes; strives for continuous improvement.

  Provides mentorship for caregivers new in their role; sets team performance metrics, evaluates productivity, and helps team members create long-term career plans.

  Manages to the adherence of the PSJH CI education team design standards and team processes.

  Manages work assignments and coaches team members in prioritization of work.

  Collaborates with CI team leaders to projects have defined education team resources, realistic deliverables and timelines.

  Appropriately escalates critical issues, problems or delays that could have an impact on the success of team projects, initiatives, or assignments.

  Assists to adhere to budgeting and expenditures for CI program services.

  Maintains current knowledge of education and instructional design principles and applications and health informatics trends, specially around training in health informatics.

  Standards of Performance:

  Actively supports and incorporates the mission and core values of PSJH in daily activities and interactions with all others .

  Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees, and as appropriate, other information as required by Federal, State, and Company compliance policies.

  Ensures compliance in self and team with mandatory system training and education efforts.

  Participates collaboratively with other education team leadership to support team goals and those of the larger CI team.

  Role models professional behavior as a leader and a clinical informatics education professional.

  Customer Service:

  Develops and collaborates, using data, on individual and team objectives and capacities in the creation, definition, and advancement/support of new and existing standard work processes (SOPs) and procedures and service level agreements (SLA) consistent with PSJH management, IS, and CI priorities with the goal of providing and maintaining excellent, realistic customer service.

  Measures and reports on individual and team objectives/SOPs/SLAs as required/requested by CI and IS leadership.

  Advocates for and supports a collaborative and just work environment that maintains and augments employee engagement and satisfaction with a career at PSJH.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Job Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Ability to balance multiple priorities and information needs across team and organization, as well as, organize short-term responsibilities in response to changing demands. Action oriented and in possession of critical thinking, problem solving and cognitive skills

  Strong program and project management skills; ability to define and lead process improvement projects in a cross-functional setting

  Ability to identify and implement changes and improvements that accomplish long-range objectives

  Ability to comprehend customer business needs with respect to customers’ requests and PSJH IS objectives, mission and core values. Ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with multidisciplinary groups

  Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others. Proficiency with the MS-Office suite of products.

  Strong leadership skills, particularly in the areas of learning and education

  Ability to travel throughout the health system as well as to meetings and seminars throughout United States

  Contributes to the execution of the strategic priorities of Clinical Informatics

  Ability to effectively work with geographically separated teams

  Adaptable, flexible, and able to deal with change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities

  Required qualifications:

  Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Informatics, healthcare

  6 years of Education experience in an information services or training setting along with 3 or more years of management experience. Healthcare information services operations and support

  4 years of leadership experience

  Preferred qualifications:

  Master's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Informatics, healthcare

  Upon hire: Healthcare related and/or Education related certification

  Upon hire: Informatics certifications or credentialing (may be equivalent for up to 2 years of experience for this position at the hiring manger’s discretion)

  3 years of experience in education in a large organization with multiple implementations. Experience standardizing complex and disparate processes. Experience in process improvement methodology, change management, and operational experience in a complex environment
