GENERAL PURPOSEManages Facilities infrastructure and teams at assigned site(s) to achieve operational objectives, e.g., safety, quality, reliability, cost, continuous improvement, and employee morale.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Applies sound project management and engineering principles.
Coaches employees on facilitating and managing change.
Develop a proactive culture to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
Responsible for the team's safety program, safety policies/procedures, and compliance with all state and federal legislation.
Develops, monitors, and reports on annual department operating budgets (expense and capital).
Ensures complete and cost-effective compliance with all current governmental regulations (EPA, DNR, OSHA, DEQ) and engineering codes and effectively insures efforts to anticipate future regulations.
May manage skilled trades program within the department to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Provides leadership and insight into new or emerging engineering concepts and technologies.
Responsible for employee selection and training.
Analyzes work force skill sets or trades and adjusts or balances to support changing work requirements.
Assists employees in developing new skills that will allow them to increase their contribution to the business and improve the processes of the operation.
Supports and/or develops programs/initiatives (PM,TPM,...) to ensure 100% uptime of production equipment.
Supports multiple projects in various phases, simultaneously drawing on internal and external networks to achieve results.
Works closely with site leadership teams to provide cost-effective services that enable them to achieve their goals.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the Energy Center.
Oversees the day-to-day operations, including staffing
Investigate and implement energy savings opportunities
Provides Maintenance and engineering support for air ZMS compressors
Manages utility billing process for West Michigan, which includes
Coordinating EAR, signing off on all PO's, and tracking overall spend
Maintains asset tracking for South Campus
Plans and manages South Campus capital spending for Facilities and the Energy Center
Includes: Zeeland, GSO, MWDC, Design Yard, Marigold
Shared responsibility with North Campus support depending on project load.

The HVAC system
Dust Collector system design
Building Management Systems
Sewer and Storm water drains
Plant, office, and parking lot lighting
Fire suppression system design and compliance
Plant air compressors
Water supply
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management Engineering or other technical discipline; a Building / Mechanical Contractor License or equivalent professional experience required.
Minimum of 8 years experience in facilities, engineering, or maintenance roles, including two years in a leadership capacity.
Technically competent with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and equipment.
Must have an awareness of governmental regulations in safety, environmental, and emergency response.
