Effectively handle property damage claims due to OD vehicle accidents and incidents. Perform other duties pertaining to certificates of insurance, insurance renewal cards, etc.
Primary Responsibilities
Review new accident workflows to determine proper retention of documents and handling of company car accidents
Investigate claims, including gathering information for investigative purposes from various sources, such as drivers, service centers, adjusters, witnesses, claimants and police officers/departments and review information to determine claim payment, denial or subrogation
Subrogation of a Claim including communicating with OD Maintenance Department, body shops, Audit Bureau and independent adjusters
Determine damage amounts to OD equipment, collecting pictures
Secure copies of invoices for towing and spills and collect cargo claim information
Determine total amount due OD after investigation and collection of information determining responsible party
Send subrogation letters, receiving checks, entering amount under proper claim and remitting payment
Monitor weekly subrogation report for follow up and additional handling as needed
Determine payment or denial of claims including the steps of communicating with claimants, adjusters, Audit Bureau, insurance companies, attorneys, body shops and service center personnel regarding status of property damage claims, requesting appraisals, total loss evaluations and estimates, entering property damage settlement checks and rental payments
Review supplemental damage estimates and pay as needed
Review financial information and determining settlement of downtime claims
Audit and process independent adjuster invoices
Write settlement, denial and escrow letters
Respond to letters of representation from claimant attorneys and medical lien providers
Scan claim documents into the Liability Claims System, and ensuring correct classification and claim number of each document scanned
Review requests for Certificates of Insurance, forward requests to applicable entities, and maintain documents
Stay up to date on property damage reserve amounts and adjust as necessary
Determine the number of tractor insurance cards needed for each service center and disperse accordingly
Determine, request and disperse VIN specific insurance cards for company cars
Assist with departmental adherence to the company document retention policy

Education:
High school diploma or equivalentExperience:
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet mandatory deadlines
