Elizabeth Freeman Center (EFC) seeks a reliable and dedicatedcounselor/advocate to provide support, advocacy, counseling and crisisresponse for survivors of domestic and sexual violence This position isbased in EFC?s central county office in Pittsfield. AA/EOE Responsibilities:Offer counseling, advocacy, crisis response, information, and referralsfor survivors of domestic and sexual violence who call EFC?s Hotline orwalk into the central county office - assess circumstances and emergencyneeds and provide assistance to meet those needs, including shelter,safety planning, and transportation, etc. - address barriers to help orhealing, and provide support - advocate on issues of housing, financesand benefits, children, medical and mental health care, etc. - connectsurvivors with internal and external community resources with follow-upas appropriate - General counselor/advocate as assigned to provideongoing counseling and advocacy in individual and group settings -Contribute to outreach and collaboration efforts, including liaisingwith community partners, providing community education, disseminatingprogram outreach materials, and tabling at community events - Maintainprofessional boundaries with individuals receiving EFC services,excellent records in agency database, and adhere to strict guidelines toensure client confidentiality - Complete all other duties assigned tofurther EFC?s mission and to ensure that survivors are safe and areprovided with professional, empathetic, affirming services within thecontext of the agency?s mission and consistent with grant and legalrequirements Preferred qualifications include: - Demonstrated commitmentto providing survivors of domestic and sexual violence with holistic,accessible, trauma-informed, strength-based victim services andadvocacy - Experience in counseling, community organizing, and/orcommunity engagement - Skills in spoken and written communication,computer/technology, and teamwork - Bilingual skills in English/Spanishstrongly preferred - Bachelor or Associate Degree (may be waived forrelevant, comparable level of work or life experience) - Mustsuccessfully pass Criminal Record Check-CORI, be determined appropriateto work with persons under 18, have a valid Massachusetts driver?slicense and reliable transportation with willingness to transportclients when safe and appropriate Work Hours: 40 hours per week, 9 am -5 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required for emergencies,outreach and counseling activities Compensation and benefits: ElizabethFreeman Center believes in offering all staff: competitive salary andbenefits, engaged and dedicated colleagues, training and education inbest practices, career development opportunities, openness toinnovation, and the opportunity and resources to do meaningful,impactful work. This position begins at \$22 per hour (\$45,760annually) plus hourly increments for bilingual skills, other specialskills and education, and a year-end bonus depending on funding.
